Community and Well-Being Challenge Kit – For Educators
“To learn we need to be well. Student well-being is fostered when students know their thinking matters and they have voice, agency and positive relationships that affirm their identities.”

What is a Challenge Kit?
Building community and well-being are essential for transformational learning, yet we’re continuing to see and feel the impact of 4 years of disruption. Schools continue to be challenged in building and maintaining meaningful connections, ensuring everyone feels they belong. This is an opportunity to engage the whole school community to support well-being and build community with student voice and creativity. Now more than ever, students say they feel disconnected, face challenges in building relationships and connecting with peers in ways that also support their academic achievement.
Students’ guiding challenge is: How might we (re)build community at our school?

“Community is important regardless the size, friends, school, etc. It is important to have this support system. Going through high school, community is a big thing, and the pandemic made it so hard for us to feel part of one.”
